We combined a large team of special effects technicians to create the Jaegermeister puppets Ralf & Rudy. Each character was first sculpted in clay. Casts were made in polyurethane rubber. A skull was made to contain the mechanical eyes and to support the animated ears and horns. To achieve full animation each puppet required a team of four operators behind the scenes.
This is the penguin we made to perform in the film “Sterke Verhalen” by Kees van Nieuwkerk en Teddy Cherim. It is an animatronic hand puppet produced over a period of five weeks. It is made out of very flexible silicone rubber with jaw and wing mechanisms.
In the gallery below we can see Saskia de Zee finishing the complicated pattern for the fur. Vincent Mensink had got the first cable control wing prototypes ready. Padma Koster is seen preparing the mould ready for casting in rubber.
Made for use in a series of commercials, this was our first animatronic project. It’s an animatronic hand puppet. The electronic eyes blink and have x/y movement, (mechanism by Creative Engineering). The hands are cable controlled.
ToyToy was made out of soft polyurethane foam, cast in a polyester mould. The mould had an exterior form and a core. In this way we were able to determine the thickness of the plastic blank, and therefore the flexibility of the puppet.
